James Marter, running for Congress in Illinois’ 14th Congressional District, issued a statement on yesterday’s vote to censure Representative Gosar over his cartoon tweet.

“I certainly disagree with the cartoon. I also disagree with hypocrisy. That’s why I’m calling once again for Representative Underwood to call for the censure of her colleagues, Representatives Omar and Tlaib, for their anti-Semitism in word and policy. I’m adding to that list, Representative Maxine Waters, who incited violence in Minneapolis. If Representative Underwood can’t apply judgement with blinders on, perhaps she is unfit for office. It seems disingenuous to me that she’ll feign righteous indignation in some cases, while tolerating bigotry, hate and incitement, as long as it comes from her own party.”
